PITCHRAD #33 - LOW ENTROPY - SOMATIC RESPONSES TRIBUTE | This is a special mix by Low Entropy in order to highlight the early sound of Somatic Responses. This Welsh duo doesn't need an introduction, do they? Their early sound was defined by lush, soothing melodies and hard hitting, yet complex structured, beats. Apart from the inherent creativity of their music, it is also stylistically very interesting. This early sound was much closer to the "Hardcore" sound - you can find a lot of distorted 909 type drums there - yet also often close to early synthesizer music - almost Krautrock-esque. This is what this mix tries to put in the spotlight. |

PITCHRAD #26 - RONIN | Computer-generated DJ set of own material. This is a liveset of recent tracks which could be seen as a return by Ronin back to his uptempo roots, showing that there may be some life left in the old nag yet. Many of the tracks are mastered and not in fully re-arrangeable liveset format, so this could be considered a DJ set with loadsa FX. Some of these tracks also feature on the forthcoming album release by Ronin entitled Divided by Zero. Note: The calypso flavoured breakcore track in this set is also now available as the A side on the new Frogs Records 10th release on vinyl.
