FEINE TRINKERS BEI PINKELS DAHEIM + TILL BRUGGEMANN @ THE OTHERS
FEINE TRINKERS BEI PINKELS DAHEIM + TILL BRUGGEMANN
They are from Bremen and Lörrach on the German coasts, and have toured everything from The Netherlands to Switzerland and Russia extensively over the last 2 decades. In the last 2 decades, they released unique vinyl CD and cassettes in multiple editions , usually personalised and with personalised hand-painted artwork. Every show of Feine Trinkers bei Pinkels is an experience for itself - it's timeless, it's a feast for the ears, and it's such a pleasure to see them doing all the work on stage when you just lean back staring at them, with their aural earbuds tickling your eardrums. Now, Yesterday or Tomorrow, and why do they have such an attention to detail - that's the question you will ask yourself. " FTBPD will be again joined by a Special Guest from Gerechtigkeits Liga on the night. www.pinkelsdaheim.com

BISCLAVERET @THE OTHERS The indigenous representative of the dark independent scene was created in the year 2000 in Gdansk (Poland). From the beginning the duet Radosław Murawski (Thorn) and Maciej Mehring (Dragos) is following their own music path. Relying in on the dark/wave ambient stylistics and taking inspirations from illustration music they are creating sounds, thanks to which the atmosphere of horror and psychodrama is enhanced. Creating their compositions, the musicians are trying to close them in tight albums, in which the text is an integral part thanks to which Bisclaveret introduces the listeners into the world of their own visions, claustrophobic fears and questions about human existence. They use their own literature code as well as take inspirations from other authors. The example can be the "Treatise on Mannequins" registered in album "Les Mennequins" (over this publication Paweł Adamowicz, the President of Gdansk took patronage). Their seeking in the music and word matter the musicians have transferred into few domestic and foreign publications. They took part in many domestic and foreign concerts and festivals. Their shows are enriched by performance thanks to which the atmosphere of rareness and mysteriousness is enhanced- which is characteristic for this project. www.bisclaveret.com

EYE @ THE OTHERS Guido Flichman (b. Buenos Aires, 1986) is a self-taught musician working in both composed and improvised formats. With a focus on experimentation, he utilizes any combination of guitars, effects, field recordings, samples, homemade analog synthesizers and everyday objects, manipulating all of these in order to bring out and express their sonic qualities and capabilities. Towards the end of 2004, he developed an interest in the use of noise as a compositional element; he directed his experiments with this concept into his solo project, EYE, an outlet that constantly takes on new forms in an effort to discover new textures and sonorities, seeking new experiences with each work. He has released numerous albums on both physical and virtual labels, oftentimes working with other artists in the local and international scene. He is also currently part of Cine Shampoo, an experimental ensemble formed in the beginning of 2008 with Mat?as Brunacci, Lucas Ledesma and Franco Capozzoli, as well as the ambient/drone duo Termotank (also with Mat?as Brunacci). Additionally, since 2006, he has administrated the web portal www.latinoise.com.ar, which aims to promote and disseminate the information and works of noise and experimental artists in Latin America. http://www.myspace.com/eyenoiseproject

STANDGERICHT! @ THE OTHERS Standgericht is a London band which started out as a martial rythmic noise band but shifted more into ebm in the last two years. The word Standgericht means "court martial" in german but is also a play on words, which could be translated as "take away meal". Standgericht does not reinvent the wheel it embraces the idea of 4/4 danceable music fully without subscribing to any kind of main stream sound. Standgericht's mission in life is to make the world a noisier place, it does not educate, it entertains. VERA BREMERTON @ THE OTHERS The everlasting battle between instinct and rationality in one?s soul. The dark forces of nature and the piercing light of culture. This is what infuses Vera?s passionate songs. Pounding techno beats and the thrashing sound of industrial machinery merge with sensual synths and raw guitar, like scalpels carving a work of art out of live flesh and pulsating nerves. Vera?s acrobatic and unpredictable vocal melodies, spanning though four octaves, give voice to the silent screams that only happen in dreams. Founded by R.Allen and D.Knowler after their previous band, Leisur Hive came to rest, The Infinte Three aims to explore paths which Leisur Hive were never able to tread. This performance debuts a new approach with an audiovisual piece entitled "Out of the Aeons" that has been specifically developed around the works of H. P. Lovecraft, intended as a summoning of the dark energy of the Old Ones into this dimension from the spaces between the worlds. With disturbing visuals and a stated intention to force patrons to question the nature of reality, persons of a psychically hypersensitive nature are advised to consult a physician prior to attending... http://www.myspace.com/slainofthehydra

Repeated themes arrive suddenly and then shift into new passages seamlessly creating a surreal environment of confusion and alienation. All of the carefully mixed and slow morphing passages are balanced by surgical editing technique (while leaving the tired "cut-up" techniques behind.) Helm's music many properties of concrete and sound poetry reminiscent of the work of Charles Amirkhanian or Bengt Hambraeus, it does not confine itself to these genre of these works.

ANNOIANOID - DTNB SET Annoianoid has an insatiable hunger. He hungers for sounds. Sounds from the other side. Sounds that he hasn't yet heard. Sounds, that if he can only grasp them, catch them in his enormous ear vaults, he can lock away and feed on their succulent sonic sweetness over many long winter nights while he lives day to day in the wilderness in only a suit of britches and a coat and with his hair worn long in the municipal style. BARACLOUGH @ THE OTHERS Unstable weather may more often occur during Baraclough, when warm air begins on occasions to invade from lower latitudes, while cold air is still pushing on occasions from the Polar regions. Baraclough is also most common in and near mountainous areas during this time of year because of snowmelt, accelerated by warm rains. In the United States, Baraclough is most active this time of year, especially since the Rocky Mountains prevent the surging hot and cold air masses from spreading eastward and instead force them into direct conflict. Besides Baraclough, supercell thunderstorms can also produce dangerously large hail and very high winds, for which a severe thunderstorm warning or tornado warning is usually issued. Even more so than in winter, the Baraclough play an important role in unstable and severe weather in the springtime in the Northern Hemisphere. www.baraclough.co.uk

VERA BREMERTON @THE OTHERS You know when you scream in your dreams and your voice doesn't come out? That is Vera Bremerton's music. Extreme emotion, extreme expressions that never explode but remain compressed, locked inside. The vocal lines follow the keys of the artist's soul rather than the rules of musical grammar. It's industrial machinery merging with live flesh and pulsating nerves. It's the gait of the guitar, a funeral march spread over a sonic carpet of jazz brushes. Vera Bremerton is a messianic lamb, cruel like the mise en scene of a flagellation put on by Antonin Artaud, painful yet never cathartic. In her music there is no resurrection after crucifixion, no ascent after martyrdom, no holiness. http://www.myspace.com/verabremerton

SLOPPY SECONDS @ THE OTHERS A pair of non-dimensional time rabbits who strive to disolve notions of time and space through a 'sonic smudge' of intense noise coupled with visceral performance rituals. Named 1.7 and 5.2, these two rabbits deal with ideas of serialisation, subjectivity, shamanism, and quantum ontology, with a focus on creating a conflict and resolution within individual audience members regarding everything they believe to be true. Individual appearences are always different in form, but this simple thread of destoying time and space is present in all of their performances. Actions to date have included the smashing of clocks, the folding of paper, the defacing of maps etc.

VULTURES WITH EVER ORCHID @ THE OTHERS an improvising quartet from London, England; consisting of Daniel Beattie, Matt Chilton, Will Connor and Anthony Donovan. Working across the fields of music, visual art and film, its members take influence from industrial, post-rock, free-jazz, avant-classical and noise, to create a new hybrid that seems somehow to be organically formed. Vultures has a fearsome live reputation; both in its own right and in collaboration with the likes of Steve Beresford, Z'ev, PAS, Sandeep Mishra and Ampersand. Now based in the south coast area of England SHIFT has had several releases on labels such as Hospital Productions, Freak Animal, At War With False Noise and on his own label Unrest Productions. Carefully avoiding the use of playback and laptops SHIFT operates all equipment (analogue synths, effects pedals, contact mics, sheet metal, samplers etc) and vocals resulting in an intense and disciplined live set of oppressive subsonic gloom, executed in real time. http://www.freewebs.com/shift-work

JOHN WALL @ THE OTHERS JOHN WALL Since 1995's Alterstill, London-based composer John Wall has been slowly building one of the most unique - and important - bodies of work in contemporary electronic composition. Wall's modus operandi has seen him classed a "sampling composer". Descriptively speaking, this was accurate enough, but from Construction 1-4 released in 1999 a move away from this form of composition has taken place. By the time his cd Cphon came out in 2005 the "sampling" had become virtually non existant. Since then Wall has taken his music in a much more radical direction doing live solo, computer laptop, semi- improvised, intense, volatile and abstract sound performances. www.myspace.com/utterpsalm John Wall has asked us to note that the spoken word and backing at the beginning of this recording, is by Alex Rogers.

ERROR A pioneer of Latvian harsh noise/powerelectronics/experimental noise and dark ambient. Started in 1996 as one big joke, unwillingly and uncontrollable even by its creator, developed into one of the most extreme and beautiful eastern european noise acts. His work gained praise (though, more often failure to understand) not only owing to its unfamiliar avant-garde aesthetics, but also, to its ironic elements of social subversion. In the end of nineties popular were Error's sound synthesis pieces containing speeches of radio evangelists and deconstructed pop songs. Through the years Error has been drifting from harsh noise to ambient noise, combining seemingly opposite sound elements into one chaoharmonic sound product, currently performing so called hypnotic or progressive noise. (Error in his work is capable of reflecting profound emotion, balancing between deep, even overly dramatic seriousness and irony. The feelings induced by his music, among others, are anxiety of despair, sadness ranging from apathetic to piercing, and grotesque drama. Stylistically, his music envelops rather broad spectrum, it oscillates from purely experimental sound art to power noise, from darkly lyrical ambient to harsh noise.)

PITCHRAD #36 - DARKMATTER INTRO AND INTERVIEW PT 1 'Darkmatter Soundsystem was born in early 2001 by a collective of like-minded individuals who wanted to fill a void in the Los Angeles underground. We wanted nothing to do with the restrictive overpriced nature of clubs or commercial raves, but most importantly we wanted to showcase music that currently fit nowhere in the L.A underground. Our collective mission was to showcase extreme electronics and splintered beats in an independent autonomous zone. 'As time progressed, we became connected with others with the same mission internationally as well as locally. This network has allowed us to share ideas as well as present music that for the most part would not be heard. We are now a part of this much larger network where we seek to support each other as well as continuing to promote more experimental sounds in Los Angeles!' - http://www.darkmattersoundsystem.com/About.html As well as bouncing dancefloors all over the place, Darkmatter have released vinyls featuring tracks by members of their own crew as well as like-minded noise destructos such as ADC (more details: http://www.darkmattersoundsystem.com/Releases.html).

PITCHRAD #33 - LOW ENTROPY - SOMATIC RESPONSES TRIBUTE This is a special mix by Low Entropy in order to highlight the early sound of Somatic Responses. This Welsh duo doesn't need an introduction, do they? Their early sound was defined by lush, soothing melodies and hard hitting, yet complex structured, beats. Apart from the inherent creativity of their music, it is also stylistically very interesting. This early sound was much closer to the "Hardcore" sound - you can find a lot of distorted 909 type drums there - yet also often close to early synthesizer music - almost Krautrock-esque. This is what this mix tries to put in the spotlight.

PITCHRAD #31- BADSEKTA 7TH BIRTHDAY - TREEN "TReeN's sound takes you on a genre-defying journey through melodic, bass-heavy dance music. Like Orbital, their on-stage sound is built using a rack of interchangeable synths and samplers: Access Virus, Moog, Korg, Roland and Akai. TReeN's soaring hooks, looped vocals and acid squelches are smattered with 808 claps, crusty breakbeats and layers of analogue pulses and kicks. Oh and don't forget the sub: TReeN are not afraid to build magnificent aural cityscapes only to raze them to the ground with mighty, mighty bass." PITCHRAD #26 - RONIN Computer-generated DJ set of own material. This is a liveset of recent tracks which could be seen as a return by Ronin back to his uptempo roots, showing that there may be some life left in the old nag yet. Many of the tracks are mastered and not in fully re-arrangeable liveset format, so this could be considered a DJ set with loadsa FX. Some of these tracks also feature on the forthcoming album release by Ronin entitled Divided by Zero. Note: The calypso flavoured breakcore track in this set is also now available as the A side on the new Frogs Records 10th release on vinyl. The flip side features a track by label head Freddy Frogs and is available from all good stockists as of now. http://roninaudio.net & http://soundcloud.com/ronin

PITCHRAD #20 - DJ CUTBACK In a bubble of his own stuck between reality and society he finds his safe place sandwiched within music and anything the world has to throw at him! Martin started playing records around 1995, and found himself on a journey through various musical styles from old skool to trance to whatever else he could get his hands on until that fine day came when he came across his very first Deathchant record! The rest is history: his first taste of the DJ side of life came from playing at Diehard in Leicester, and then has seen a varied path from dingy shit holes to free parties and a few of the UK's most upfront hardcore events.

PITCHRAD #15 - KOVERT - DETROIT 1990-92 DJ MIX It?s something we?ve been speaking about over the last couple of years ? a shared love of the early Underground Resistance / Hardwax etc axis of banging Detroit proto hardcore. Kovert sampled Underground Resistance?s X-101 on his ?No Surrender? track for the Praxis USA compilation released on Deadly Systems in 2000. UR presented a militant and independent mode of operating that was not determined by personalities and tap dancing for the man, and shifted the content and stage of operations inhabited by Public Enemy into the sphere of techno music, situating resistance frequencies in local communities, outer space, inner space, the elements, and across the planet in oft forgotten flashpoints in ?history?. The music that was put out with great focus and rapidity on UR by Mike Banks, Jeff Mills, Rob Hood, and others had a big impact on a lot of producers and individuals oriented toward resistance activities coming out of the 1980s into the nascent terra technic - when it seemed possible to foment revolution and autonomous activity through electronic music and free spaces. And now? On the European mainland and even as recently as the recent urban disturbances in London and Bristol, electronic dance music has been used as a kinetic force electrifying crowds to action...

PITCHRAD #12 - HEADCLEANER Headcleaner?s latest and most adventurous musical project is the modular synth project you hear today. A totally analog and entirely improvised set on a machine half designed and built by his own hand. He has been released on Rephlex records and spent many years on the Dutch and UK party scenes, influences which can be clearly heard in the clash of beats and loops. While mixing straight beats with experimental off kilter rhythms and loops, the whole thing keeps churning with grooves before falling apart into pure noise - only to be dragged kicking and screaming back from the brink and twisted into new and strange forms ? it?s like flying into a storm with a blind pilot? myspace.com/daveheadcleaner & soundcloud.com/daveheadcleaner & youtube.com/magnoxopus

PITCHRAD#10 - DISTORTED PANDA In his debut outing for Pitchless Radio on ILLFM, Sheffield's Distorted Panda presents a painstakingly selected and blended DJ mix of balls-out heads-down tunes, inspired by his 4 year stint as co-promoter and resident of Tinnitus, Sheffield's only and longest running night of properly hard shit. Having put on producers and DJs such as Hidden, Dolphin, The DJ Producer, Jeff Amadeus and SPL, and having been involved in the scene for a total of 12 odd years, he's got a lot to draw upon. With a definite avoidance of hardcore that sounds like a post-apocalyptic washing machine gone wrong and DnB covers of tunes made by the Rotherham Steelworker's Experminental Percussion Group (circa 1977), just listen and enjoy. You'll barely notice the 70bpm increase in tempo over the course of the set, we promise. http://www.myearsarebleeding.co.uk and http://web.mac.com/distortedpanda

PITCHRAD#8 - TERRA AUDIO Neither plant nor animal, Terra Audio exists as a flurry of SPORs landing in a series of fragile ecosystems to transmit frequency resistance. Just as swallows flying together through the air create a whorl of rhythm more advanced than any human-machine interface, the SPOR uses a Multiordinal Tracking Unit (MTU) to gauge the effects of what happens, and to slide undetected through the edges of ecosystems, leaving behind a trail of life-generating affects. The MTU functions by mapping the differing assemblages that compose a local network: monitoring their overlap and the connections between, and assessing what the underground can do to loosen things and engage a rhythmic approach to seemingly inert and concretized matter. All of the concepts and techniques used emerge from ecology to be put back into the local environment. Certain words, tones, rhythms function as triggers used to produce mind-altering and physically beneficial results. Every medium of expression encodes a range or bandwidth which when combined gives the whole visible and invisible spectrum. It seems to take very few people initially to catalyse something that passes through them and spreads in many directions, sometimes producing very pretty patterns, at others producing what seem to be chaotic connections and may in fact be diverse events that create a resonance on many levels (multiordinality). The components and experiences add up to something extremely intense, lasting as long as you remember and go with the new direction of the flow. Everyday life seems to be geared toward cynicism and repetition, but this needn?t be the case. ?When we were exploring this concept we wanted a word to describe the little twinkles of life, the out of the ordinary seemingly impossible events that go in the direction of creating the most vibrant and intense life. We hit on the word singularity, a singular in-between life-generating potential where a stable situation modulates into something else.? Once you connect with a few singluarities and start linking them together in a flexible and non-dogmatic way, astonishing sequences of events may be activated. In Autumn the skies cloud over and merge with the buildings, edges disappear, and cloaked in grey silence the SPOR can move undetected through the decaying leaves and rubbish strewn on the ground by a combination of seagulls emitting very pure electronic tones and wind whooshing along the streets producing sheets of sound. Natural rhythms harmonise, timing happens, you do the 'correct thing' exactly when needed to extend positive and creative connections in many directions. You become a spiral organism.
